Standard 2:

Students prepared in early childhood degree programs understand that successful early childhood education depends upon partnerships with children’s families and communities. They know about, understand, and value the importance and complex characteristics of children’s families and communities. They use this understanding to create respectful, reciprocal relationships that support and empower families and to involve all families in

their children’s development and learning.

Standard 2:

Below I have attached 2 documents. Every month, we sent out a newsletter for our families. They discussed the topics we would be talking about, letters of the week, and our weekly themes. I have also attached a copy of our Art Calendar. We used the Art Calendar to start conversations with parents and children. Parents will be able to get their child excited for their art project they are doing that day, or asking about the project at the end of the day. This connects the parents with the classroom and the parents and the children.
